5 Things to Do During Your Period to Support Your Body & Womb

Your period is not a time to push your body harder.
It’s a natural time to slow down, restore, nourish, and reconnect with yourself. Instead of fighting your body or expecting yourself to operate at 100%, think of your period as an invitation to soften and give your body the support it needs.
Here are five simple ways I like to care for my body during my cycle:
1. Choose Gentle Movement
You don’t have to stop moving during your period but this may not be the time for aggressive, strenuous workouts. Think walking, gentle stretching, restorative movement, light weightlifting, or anything that helps you feel calm and grounded. Listen to your body. If you have energy, move. If you need rest, rest.
This is a time to restore your body and rest in your body not push against it.
2. Keep Your Womb Warm
There is something incredibly comforting about warmth during your period. Try a heating pad or warm compress over your lower abdomen while you’re relaxing, reading, praying, or watching a movie.
And personally, I skip cold plunging during my period. If my body is asking for warmth and rest, I listen.
3. Drink Herbal Teas
Make yourself a beautiful cup of herbal tea and let it become part of your ritual.
Some of my favorites include:
Red raspberry leaf tea
Hibiscus tea
Chamomile tea
You can enjoy them warm or chilled. These teas are just so good during menstruation.
4. Nourish Your Body & Slow Down
Your period can be a beautiful reminder that rest is productive, too.
Take a warm bath.
Book a massage.
Put on comfortable clothes.
Eat nourishing foods.
Get extra sleep.
Read.
Pray.
Take a walk outside.
Give yourself permission to do less.
Your body does so much for you every single day. Sometimes the most wellness-focused thing you can do is simply stop demanding so much from it.
5. Be Mindful About Your Feminine Products
What you put against your most intimate and absorbent areas matters. I personally prefer choosing organic feminine products and avoiding unnecessary fragrances and harsh ingredients whenever possible.
One of my favorite brands is https://cora.com. Also, many women love menstrual cups but I have yet to try.
Remember lady,
Your cycle is information.
It’s your body communicating with you.
Instead of pushing through every signal, try asking:
What does my body need from me today?
Maybe it’s movement.
Maybe it’s warmth.
Maybe it’s nourishment.
Maybe it’s rest.
Wellness isn’t about doing more.
Sometimes wellness looks like slowing down enough to actually listen.
