I Don’t Believe Skincare Should Be a Full-Time Job

We’ve Made Skincare Way Too Complicated

When I lived in New York City, the women I knew who were getting Botox and fillers were primarily the wealthy women on the Upper East Side.

Fast-forward to today…

It has become SO common. Women, men, people in their 20s… getting injected, filled, frozen, tweaked and altered before they’ve even really aged.

And I’m sorry, but I find that concerning.

Because skincare used to be just that.

Skincare.

A good little routine. Taking care of your skin. Eating well. Drinking water. Moisturizing. Exfoliating.

Now it’s become a full-time job.

And I don’t believe that’s health.

I don’t believe that’s sustainable.

And honestly, I don’t believe we need to be chasing “perfect” skin.

I’ve been in the beauty industry since I was basically a teenager. I’ve tried A LOT of products and trends over the years.

And there are some things I personally would never do.

Botox is one of them.

Instead, I focus on what I CAN do.

I eat as clean as I can and eat lots of healthy fats, organic foods, sardines, quality meat.

I drink really good water. I personally love my Kangen water.

I use Gua Sha and facial massage.

And I’ve recently been trying Frøya, an Icelandic skincare line, and I’m really loving it.

And honestly?

Your skincare routine does not need to be complicated.

Cleanse.

Exfoliate.

Hydrate.

Moisturize.

Eat well.

Drink your water.

Move your body.

Get your sleep.

And let your skin be SKIN.

We don’t need to spend our entire lives trying to look 25.

We need to learn how to age well.

That’s the kind of beauty I’m interested in.
