I Used to Have Terrible Teeth. Here’s What I Do Differently Now.

Let me be real with you.
I used to have really bad teeth.
Not “oh I had one cavity” bad.
I mean fillings, dental work, mercury fillings replaced… the whole thing.
But now I see it differently.
Because I started asking a better question:
What’s actually causing this? What’s going on with my body as a whole?
Gut, diet, lifestyle… everything.
And that changed a lot for me.
So what do I actually do now? I’m a mom of four. I don’t have time for a 20-step routine.
So I keep it simple. Here’s what I do.
1. I tongue scrape
It’s quick, easy, and my mouth feels way cleaner after.
That’s it. You can find one here on my Amazon store https://a.co/d/04Bdlc5
2. I oil pull
Not instead of brushing. This helps pull toxins and bacteria from the mouth, and it’s a great natural teeth whitener. Just swish in the mouth for 15 mins while you’re in the shower and getting ready then spit. That’s it.
3. I reduce plastic in my oral care
I use plastic-free toothbrushes when I can and just try to make better swaps over time. Micro plastics are everywhere and they are damaging to our health. Watch The Plastic Detox on Netflix and it will tell you all the reasons why.
4. I focus on food
This is the biggest shift for me.
I eat more nutrient-dense foods like sardines and cod liver oil, and I care way more about real food than supplements or trends. Because it turns out your teeth don’t exist separately from the rest of your body.
They need nutrients too and…..
5. I think about my gut
This is the part most people ignore.
But everything is connected.
Your gut, your mouth, your diet it all plays a role.
Even saliva matters more than I ever realized. It helps protect your teeth and balance your mouth.
And when your diet is full of sugar, processed food, and acidic drinks, your mouth is constantly working against that.
So instead of only asking:
“What toothpaste should I use?” (Thieves whitening toothpaste for the last 13 years) it is more layered than that. Take some of these steps and watch your pearly whites shine and stay strong on the inside out.
